Technically, urban planning is the process of developing and designing urban areas to meet the needs of a community. But actually, it is so much more than this basic description. Urban planning in practice draws from a number of disciplines—architecture, engineering, economics, sociology, public health, finance, and more—and strives to prepare cities and towns for the future. Therefore, it will not be too daring to acknowledge that urban planners design the future life of humankind

MKB has a MUP (Master of Urban Planning) degree based on his “Renewable Cities” thesis and being able to have an impact and influence on the destiny of mankind and the planet was the reason for MKB to choose to get this degree. He believes that there is no other profession and expertise that plays a more effective and worthful role on the healthy & happy future of both the humans and the planet. 

Urban planning touches on numerous city-life elements—new and pre-existing land, buildings, roads, communal spaces, transportation, economic development, infrastructure, and the environment, among others. We’ve broadly categorized these aspects into different conceptual areas below. These areas are commonly referred to as types of urban planning, but it’s important to understand that they are not mutually exclusive. In fact, a cohesive urban plan should include many or all of the areas mentioned above.
